Preserve CAD Layers To Affinity

Process

  1. Export CAD file to AutoCAD 2000 version.

  2. Generate Workspace from DWG to Geospatial PDF and keep Dynamic Schema.

  3. Add PDF Page Formatter transformer.

  4. Configure Reader. Note the following key items: Layer Name, Block options, Model or Paper Space, Ignore Layers.

  5. Configure PDF Page Formatter to output size. Note that this will override whatever PDF output is defined in the Writer.

  6. Configure Writer. Note the Default Line Width and other Map Parameters, as well as Scale Text Font option.

  7. Configure Run. Note the Feature Types to Read and select applicable layers.

  8. Drag-and-drop created PDF into Affinity Designer to see all content grouped by layers.
