Shutter Speed
Aperture
Larger apertures: Shallower DOF
Smaller apertures: Greater DOF
Luminance Data (Black/White Clipping)
Motion Blur
Determined by speed of object and amount of time that camera's shutter was open.
There is no leading edge with motion blur trail; it blurs equally on both side of object.
Depth of Field (DOF)
Determined by lens aperture, focal length, distance of lens to focal point.
Proportional to square of distance (double distance then DOF quadruples).
Camera Artifacts
Lens Flares
Occurs with overexposure of image sensor and multiple reflections in lens assembly.
Note that nothing can pass between lens flares and camera since it is the closest thing to the camera.
